The A1 toll highway (called the “Autostrada del Sole”), Via Emilia and Routes allow easy access to municipal territory of Novellara:

- From the toll highway A1 exit at Reggio Emilia and follow Bagnolo in Piano, take Route 12 north.

- When travelling on Via Emilia, take the beltway around Reggio Emilia to Route 12, which carries on towards Bagnolo in Piano and Novellara.

- When arriving from Mantua, take the A22 toll highway (also known as the “Modena-Brennero toll highway”) towards Modena and exit at Reggiolo-Rolo. Drive through Reggiolo, only a couple of miles from the toll highway, and then south on Route 12.

- From Mantua, you can also take Route 63 to Guastalla, and turn southwest there towards Novellara.
